The West Palm Beach Fishing Club hosted their free Snook Showdown tournament over the weekend with some really nice Snook catches being reported throughout the tournament. The winning team had a combined two fish length of a whopping 80.25 inches! The mullet run Snook action is in full swing in West Palm Beach and these angler's weigh ins prove that the fishing is on fire. Inlets and bridges have been the main stay for the Snook recently but just about anywhere you can find nervous schools of mullet is a great place to fish. Action has been most productive during the outgoing tide at night, but first light in the morning has been productive as well. Remember, you really need to spend some time on the water to get on a good Snook bite. Even when the fishing is "on fire" it may take a few tries to locate and dial in on the fish. Make sure you are using quality tackle so when you get on that bite, you are sufficiently prepared to slay!
