The Snook have been biting Flair Hawk jigs, swimbaits and smaller shrimp patterns on the bridges at night. There have also been numerous reports of nice sized Tarpon on the bridges this week as well. The most difficult part of the inshore fishing right now is finding places to go with access being so limited everywhere.
The offshore bite has been consistently productive all week. Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Blackfin Tuna, Kingfish, Sailfish, Cobia, Wahoo and good bottom fishing have all been in the fishing reports this week. Dolphin, Blackfin Tuna and Sailfish are all coming from 150-250’ depth range in Jupiter, West Palm Beach and Boynton Beach. Kingfish and Wahoo have been reported up and down the 120’ ledge and bottom fishing persisted in 80-100’ of water.
It is going to be great fishing when the beaches finally open back up! For now, unless you can pull a boat in close to the surf or get access to a private beach, there is nobody fishing the beaches or piers right now because they are closed. A few Pompano, Jacks and some Bluefish were reported from private beaches this weekend. There is definitely plenty of action happening in the surf right now, just can’t get there!
