The Snook were chewing on the bridges this week at night. They are eating shrimp right now so make sure you are fishing either with shrimp, or a lure that the Snook can easily mistake for a shrimp floating with the current. The Flair Hawk Jigs and swimbaits have not been producing as well as they usually do lately. More and more reports of wintertime Sheepshead and some Black Drum showing up inshore this week too. Best to look around boat docks and bridge pilings to find them.
There was a decent Sailfish bite off West Palm Beach this weekend and the guys just north of us have been doing very well, so it looks like things will really light up here soon. Sailfish anglers here have been seeing releases every day, but not the big numbers were all waiting for. What else is being caught in Jupiter, West Palm Beach and Boynton Beach? Some nice bull Dolphin (Mahi Mahi) were caught this week in 200-350’ of water, and the Kingfish bite was strong for guys fishing around the 120’ ledge. In around 90’, the bottom fishing has been consistently good too.
A bunch of quality Pompano were caught in the surf this week on sand fleas and Fish Bites. The Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish are still around in big numbers up and down the beach and some reports of them at Peck’s Lake have been coming in this week. Lots of life in the surf right now!
