It's that time of year for kite fishing in the Palm Beaches and Jupiter. Many of the captains are reporting good catches of sailfish as well as many other pelagic fish. Try to flatline some live baits or even dead sardines as a compliment to hanging your goggle eyes from the kites. The fishing reports from the top captains in the area indicate that there have been kingfish and mahi coming wandering in and hitting the baits on the drift while the kite is flying. Don't be shy about dropping some baits down to the bottom or have an angler or two dropping some Shimano flat fall jigs or coltsnipers down to the bottom. The snapper and grouper bite has been turning on or off with little warning.
Live shrimp have been producing exceptionally well along the sea walls for some excellent table fare including sheepshead and black drum. We are receiving reports of anglers having success fishing a little north and in the rivers with some decent catches of snook.
The pier and surf fishing has been excellent this week and should continue. There are some really nice back breaking jacks as well as some smaller bluefish and mackerel up and down the beaches. Anglers on singer island have been having a blast throwing gotcha lures and other small shiny lures.
